1. Design and Display:

• 6.9-inch OLED Display: The iPhone 17 Pro max  could feature a 6.9-inch LTPO OLED display with ProMotion 120Hz refresh rate, offering smoother animations and visuals. Apple may further reduce the bezels for an even more immersive display.
• Under-Display Face ID: A major upgrade could be the integration of Face ID sensors under the display, eliminating the need for a notch or Dynamic Island, leading to a more seamless screen.

2. Processor and Performance:

• A19 pro Bionic Chip: Powered by the A19 pro Bionic chipset, the iPhone 17 Pro  max will likely offer enhanced processing power and better energy efficiency. This chip is rumored to significantly boost AI and machine learning performance, optimizing tasks like photography, augmented reality (AR), and gaming​.
• 16GB RAM: The Pro model might come with increased RAM (up to 16GB), improving multitasking and overall performance, especially in resource-intensive apps like video editing and gaming​.

3. Camera System:

• 48MP Main Camera:  A versatile wide-angle lens with an f/1.78 aperture and second-generation sensor-shift optical image stabilization. It can capture photos at super-high resolution (24MP and 48MP) and has a 2x optical-quality zoom by cropping the sensor.
• 48MP Ultra Wide Camera : This lens features an f/2.2 aperture and a 120° field of view. It is also used for macro photography and produces 48MP super-high-resolution photos. 
• 48MP Telephoto Camera : The biggest upgrade is the new 48MP tetraprism telephoto lens, which has a 56% larger sensor than its predecessor. It offers 4x optical zoom, and by cropping the sensor, it can achieve 8x optical-quality zoom. The camera system provides a total 16x optical-quality zoom range and up to 40x digital zoom

4. Battery and Charging:

• Capacity: 5,088 mAh for eSIM-only models, an increase of about 8% over the 
  iPhone 16 Pro Max. Models with a physical SIM card tray have a slightly smaller battery.
• Video playback: The iPhone 17 Pro Max provides up to 39 hours of video playback and up to 35 hours of streamed video playback.
• Improved efficiency: The new A19 Pro chip and iOS 26 include software optimizations that contribute to better power management.
• Charging capabilities:-
  • Wired charging: The phone can charge up to 50% in approximately 20 minutes when using a 40W or higher USB-C adapter, which is sold separately.
  • MagSafe wireless charging: It supports up to 25W MagSafe wireless charging.
  • Qi2 wireless charging: It also supports up to 25W wireless charging via Qi2.
  • Reverse wireless charging: The 
    iPhone 17 Pro Max
     is capable of reverse wireless charging.

5. Build and Durability:

• The iPhone 17 Pro Max has a new "unibody" design forged from a single piece of heat-treated aluminum, which is both lighter and more thermally conductive than the titanium frame used in the previous generation. This aluminum chassis incorporates a vapor chamber to improve thermal performance.

    iPhone 17 Pro Max
     is protected by Ceramic Shield 2, which offers 3x better scratch resistance than the previous generation. For the first time, a Ceramic Shield is also used on the back of the phone, making it 4x more resistant to cracks than previous models.
  • Aluminum unibody: The switch to an aluminum unibody enclosure, instead of a separate frame and back panel, increases the overall structural integrity and durability of the device.
  • Water resistance: The device carries an IP68 rating, meaning it is resistant to dust and can be submerged in fresh water up to a depth of 6 meters for 30 minutes.

     is slightly thicker and heavier than the 
    iPhone 16 Pro Max
    , largely to accommodate the larger battery.
  • Finish: The phone is available in several new finishes, including Deep Blue, Cosmic Orange, and Silver.
  • Form factor: It has a streamlined design with minimal bezels and a horizontally-aligned rear camera bar. This flat camera design also reduces the phone's wobble when placed on a flat surface. 

7. Software and Features:

• The iPhone 17 Pro Max  ships with iOS 26 and is defined by its deep integration of Apple Intelligence, the company's generative AI system. The phone also introduces significant camera and display updates, along with new software features that enhance productivity, communication, and visual design. 

• Writing Tools: Provides new options for proofreading, rewriting, and summarizing text across Mail, Notes, Pages, and other apps.
• Genmoji: A new feature for creating custom emojis in the keyboard by typing a descriptive phrase.

• Hold Assist and Call Screening: A new feature lets the system hold your place in a phone queue, notifying you when a representative is back on the line. Call Screening automatically deals with unknown callers.
